Adam Havner has been intrigued with airplanes since he was a young boy. While he may have been influenced somewhat by his grandfather who is an engineer, his fascination of aircraft compelled him to take on aeronautical engineering as a course of study.
What began as a sense of wonder has developed over the years and Adam is now in his last year at the University of California Davis. He is an aeronautical and mechanical engineering student. Adam suspected that the road to becoming an engineer would be long and hard and this has been confirmed at every juncture along the way. However, Adam has met the challenges and appreciates the rewards that go along with hard work and continual striving.
With two quarters remaining at UCD, Adam is now at the point where he is looking forward to working in the field of aeronautical engineering and he feels that the mechanical component of his degree will broaden his scope when he seeks employment post his June 2008 graduation. It is Adam’s desire to remain in Northern California once he graduates.
Adam is a bike enthusiast and has participated in many mountain biking challenges, including the Mountain Bike National Collegiate Championship in Angel Fire, New Mexico. He has participated as a race director in the past year and is a very innovative bike mechanic.
